The bioreactor is periodically filled with water and drained afterwards by a combined flushing and draining procedure.

Over longer periods advanced purification is advised by using a decalcification process. The time interval is primarily determined by the composition of the flushing water and the waste water. This procedure may also be carried out with the mobile disposal equipment without using any additional equipment.
